Jacob serves as Chief Technology Officer and board member at YourSix, leading a global team of engineers across the United States and Sweden. He oversees R&D and Product, focusing on building technology that’s smarter, cleaner, and engineered to perform at scale. His foundation comes from hands-on field work pulling wire, configuring network and server infrastructure, and deploying security systems, which gives him a grounded, practical perspective on how solutions need to work in the real world.

His career grew alongside the evolution of security and telecom in the 2000s. Over more than a decade, Jacob engineered systems for 200+ enterprise customers, designing everything from WAN architectures and dynamic routing to VoIP, network security, IP video, and virtual networking. That mix of engineering depth and product leadership eventually led him to co-found YourSix in 2015, convinced that physical security was overdue for a true as-a-service shift and unwilling to wait for the industry to get there on its own.

Jacob leads with a “work hard, play hard” philosophy and a mindset built around getting comfortable with discomfort—because growth rarely comes any other way. He splits his time between Minnesota and Southwest Florida and is a proud husband and father, rooted in faith and grounded by family. Outside of work, he’s often near water, wheels, or a fishing line, and he never misses a chance to cheer on the Minnesota Wild.
